The Environmental Coordinator II is an experienced professional that focuses on the interpretation of federal, state, and local environmental requirements, applies compliance procedures, and consults with plant personnel to resolve compliance issues, including but not limited to spill cleanup/emergency response, permit exceedances, and air quality issues. This role is responsible for coordinating the collection and analysis of surface water and ground water samples, interpreting data from laboratory analyses, and preparing and submitting all regulatory reports for their assigned work location(s). This position is also responsible for performing compliance inspections as required by regulatory permits and communicating any deficiencies to the appropriate power plant personnel for resolution.

- Develop a sound working knowledge of environmental program requirements and regulations in multiple disciplines.
- Maintain, modify, and renew existing and acquire new environmental permits and program procedures, including but not limited to Louisiana Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (LPDES), Title V operating, and state solid waste permits by tracking permit renewal deadlines, monitoring changes in facility operations, and reviewing proposed projects that warrant permit modifications.
- Manage facility outfall sampling, analysis preparation and interpret results to forecast compliance.
- Prepare and submit all required environmental reports for the assigned work location(s), including but not limited to quarterly, semiannual, and annual Title V compliance reports, monthly discharge monitoring reports, annual emissions inventory reports, and annual toxic release inventories.
- Establish strong working relationship with facility personnel to ensure open lines of communication are maintained between facility management and environmental personnel and maintain an equitable balance between environmental regulatory requirements and the business needs of the company.
- Assist facility personnel in resolving environmental compliance issues and respond to emergency issues and events 24 hours a day, if applicable at work location.
- Provide site-specific environmental training and reference materials for facility personnel.
- Assist in the developing and updating environmental procedures as needed, and integrate new environmental regulatory requirements into operational plans
- Communicate any environmental issues to management as soon as possible and provide monthly status updates on general facility compliance to departmental and facility management in order to ensure continued compliance with state and federal environmental regulations and completion of assigned tasks.
- Resolve all environmental regulatory issues/deficiencies which may arise, including but not limited to air emissions, permitted water discharges, and waste permit requirements with minimal assistance.
- Ensure the integrity and operational availability all of continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS) at Cleco's generation facilities, if applicable at work location.
- Assist in the management of emergency response efforts, from an environmental compliance perspective, following severe weather events within Cleco service territory and/or an environmental release event at Cleco generation facilities by assisting with the selection and coordination of spill response contractors and waste disposal management, if applicable at work location.

Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
- 3-5+ years of related experience
- Step progression levels based on skill proficiency and scope of job.
- Strong business acumen pertaining to the Utility industry
- Strong knowledge of leading practices for their practice area
- Strong planning and project management skills
- Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job
