STR is hiring a Senior Benefits Administrator who will utilize their expertise in employee benefits to provide guidance and assistance on a wide variety of benefits programs. Reporting to the Benefits & Compensation Manager, this role will be a key contributor to the Human Resources team and will be responsible for a full scope of activities associated with the development, implementation, communication, and administration of company-sponsored employee benefit programs.

This is a hybrid role, based in Woburn, MA.

What You'll Do:

  • Administer all benefit, wellness and leave programs including health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, FSA/HSA, EAP, worker's compensation, FMLA, MA Paid Family Medical Leave, etc.
  • Provide front-line support to all employees in relation to all employer-sponsored benefits. Act as a liaison between the company and external benefits providers to resolve administrative problems and claim/coverage inquiries. Escalate to benefits broker and Benefits & Compensation Manager when necessary
  • Ensure compliance of benefits programs, utilizing knowledge of benefits legislation (ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, other) and through keeping current on rules and regulations impacting benefits programs
  • Plan and support company-wide open enrollment activity including the creation of annual open enrollment sessions, distribution of benefit materials, and monitoring enrollment status
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and point of contact for all Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and disability leave (STD/LTD) questions; track the status of FMLA and STD requests, approvals and denials, and ensure that payroll is aware of leaves
  • Conduct new hire benefits orientations, provide overview of benefits and self-enrollment system
  • Manage additional benefits (transportation, gym membership, tuition reimbursement)
  • Maintain and update the internal Benefits portal
Experience & Qualification:
  • 3-5 years of Benefits Administration experience
  • Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 and other standard computer applications
  • Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with colleagues at all levels across the organization
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to change
  • Capable of maintaining confidentiality and professionally handles sensitive situations
  • Knowledge of employment benefit and leave laws (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125, Medicare, MAPFML, FMLA, ADA and workers compensation), including HR best practices, and recordkeeping compliance
  • Prior experience with HRIS systems; knowledge of ADP WorkforceNow a plus
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is needed by U.S. Government.
