Transportation Construction Engineer Taylor, MI

**Min Education:** BS in Civil Engineering

**Minimum Experience:** 3 to 5 years

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in civil and/or construction engineering, three to five years of MDOT or related construction experience, and a valid driver's license. Construction inspection experience is preferred. Individuals must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. A flexible, hybrid-remote work schedule available after 90 days of employment. Typical responsibilities include:

* Interpret project plans and specifications

* Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities

* Conduct field or laboratory material testing

* Maintain project files and record drawings

* Prepare and review daily construction reports

* Perform soil erosion control and sediment control inspections

* Review technical data for adherence with project requirements

* Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities

* Assist with change orders and pay applications

* Assist with/review scope, budget and schedule of new project tasks

* Monitor project task budget and progress

* Prepare project status and other reports

* Assist in the preparation of proposals

* Assist Project Managers

* Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.

* Transcribe and publish meeting minutes

* Attend seminars and/or training classes

* Maintain excellent client relations

* Maintain a safe working environment
