- Strong skiing and/ or snowboarding abilities, capable of traveling safely and efficiently through all snow conditions.
- EMT-B - Emergency Medical Technician - Basic, Certified by Nevada EMS or National Registry with ability to get NV EMT.
- Current CPR for professional rescuer card
- ATF clearance as an Employee Possessor
- Excellent English communication skills - both verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- A compassionate demeanor in which to aid and assist injured or distressed guests.
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritize tasks.
- INTERNAL:Managers and assistant managers of all Mt. Rose departments.Some staff level interaction if employee accidents occur.
- EXTERNAL:Resort customers, NDF, NLTFPD, REMSA, Washoe County Sheriff & EMS Offices
- Identify, reduce and/ or eliminate hazards on ski runs with regard to signing, markings and flagging.
- Provide first aid and transportation for injured guests and employees.
- Complete incident report forms on injured guests and employees and perform incident investigations as needed.
- Provide courtesy transportation to non-injured guests.
- Provide search and rescue, avalanche rescue and lift evacuation services as needed.
- Provide avalanche control and snow safety evaluations as required.
- Promote and enforce safe "on mountain" behavior as it applies to the Skier Responsibility Code.
- Clocking in and out to ensure accurate work hours
- Coordinate and cooperate with other departments as necessary in the completion of the above essential duties.
- Provide information and answer questions about the resort to resort guests.
- Any other duties that may contribute to the cleanliness, orderliness and overall efficiency of the entire operation and all of the tasks contained therein.
