Responsibilities:

Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring MTS Systems Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Design a complete and complex framework, system, or product. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses. Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

For either combination of education and experience, employer requires three (3) years of experience with the following technologies and/or skills:

  • Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;
  • Hardware verification;
  • RTL verification, functional verification of microprocessors, graphics IP architecture verification, memory verification IP, or design flows and methodologies for chip;
  • Unix or Linux environments;
  • Python, C, C++, Perl, TCL, or Shell;
  • Verification of GPU, CPU, or SOC; and
  • EAD or CAD tools.

Qualifications:

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
