**Job Description:**
The Safety Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and continual improvement of Construction & Safety programs that foster a strong safety, quality, and teamwork culture throughout organization and projects. This position will act in coordination with ProjectTeams, Contractors, and other internal and external stakeholders
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
* Perform Contractor prequalification assessment according to organization standards.
* For development projects, lead site review meetings to ensure task risks are understood and proper mitigation plans are in place
* Perform site construction kick-offs for new projects and major contractors
* Perform periodic Project contractor and subcontractor safety and documentation audits, inspections & assessments that ensure compliance with all applicable Health & Safety & Environmental regulations and our H&S contractual requirements
* Review of Construction project site training & new employee orientation
* Develop emergency action and emergency response plans with contractors
* Provide support to contractors to ensure proper injury management
* Provide constructability reviews during site visits and share input with contractors and site management
* Develop site specific SPCC plan with contractors and organization Field Services
* Coordinate environmental spill cleanup, removal, and disposal with contractors to organization requirements
* Perform on-Site construction LOTO training for organization and project staff
* Coordinate continuous improvement of the Construction Safety Manual, procedures, and related documentation with corporate safety organization
* Perform OSHA, construction, and leadership training for E&C staff
* Perform accident investigations and development of corrective action with contractors as needed and coordinate with corporate safety organization
* Maintain H&S records, H&S metrics including analysis and trending as required by corporate safety organization including collecting contractor data monthly
* Review turbine and solar project designs and layouts to ensure compliance with all applicable Health & Safety regulations, construction technique and standards
* Foster and maintain a positive and proactive culture at project sites based on behavioral competencies related to safety, leadership, and teamwork.
* Procure and manage organizationPersonal Protective Equipment supplies for construction sites.
Work collaboratively with other organization businesses including Operations
**Job Requirements:**
* Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards including OSHA Construction and Generation, Transmission and Distribution standards, and applicable EPA standards.
* Experience working in a high-performance company with multiple systems and organizations related to safety, quality, and environmental management. Strong written and oral communications skills.
* Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external customers and contractors
* Self-starter with excellent planning, project management and organizing skills.
* Strong computer skills with ability to utilize external databases, Microsoft Office, and email.
**Physical Requirements:**
* Physical demands Bending, Lifting to 25lb on occasion
* Occasional climbing involved in Solar farm
* Driving throughout solar farm in company supplied vehicle.
* Position will be exposed to outdoor elements.
* Willingness and ability to travel frequently, as required.
**Education / Experience:**
* 3-5 Years Owners Representative Experience
* Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Certification
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or above.
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study, (i.e., Construction Management, Engineering, Safety, Environmental Studies, etc.) or equivalent combination of experience and technical training.
* Minimum seven years in a renewables/ utility / power plant / heavy construction project environment,
* 3 years experience in the health & safety field (or a combination of both, equivalent to 10 years total experience)
