**Global Manager, Environmental, Health and Safety**

**Allied Mineral Products** is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide. We are seeking an **Global Manager, Environmental, Health and Safety** in our Columbus, Ohio location.

This position will provide strategic and operational direction for Allieds global Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs. Lead Allieds domestic EHS efforts by directing U.S. EHS personnel; maintaining EHS compliance to all local, state, and federal regulations as well as Allied protocols; ensuring best practice identification and implementation; conferring and coordinating with Operations management; and representing all things EHS to Allied management. Through influence and relationships, coordinate EHS efforts at all affiliate operations globally. Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs across our global operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to drive a culture of safety and sustainability throughout the organization.

**Key Duties:**

+ Strategy and Planning:

+ Develop and implement a global EHS strategy aligned with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.

+ Collaborate with leadership to integrate EHS considerations into business planning and decision-making processes.

+ Program Development and Implementation:

+ Establish, implement, and maintain Allied EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, national, and, where appropriate, international regulations.

+ Lead efforts to continually improve and update EHS management systems.

+ Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

+ Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement proactive measures to mitigate security and safety risks.

+ Develop and implement emergency response and security plans and procedures.

+ Training and Awareness:

+ Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.

+ Promote a strong safety culture through communication and awareness campaigns.

+ Incident Investigation:

+ Ensure investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses are done timely accurately and identify root causes. Lead development of related countermeasures.

+ Ensure accurate and timely reporting of incidents as required by regulatory authorities.

+ Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to build positive relationships and represent the company's commitment to EHS.

+ Develop and manage the EHS budget, ensuring cost-effective implementation of programs and initiatives.

+ Act as a Strategic Partner with the regions and global EHS staff. In general, the position acts as an EHS champion, strategic partner and internal consultant. Provide site support related to injury prevention

+ Provide subject matter expertise, direction and leadership for specific EHS program design and implementation domestically. Provide same in a consultative role for global affiliates.

+ Provide technical assistance for planning, permitting, and startup of new facilities

+ Ensure domestic facilities compliance to local, state and federal regulations, as well as Allied EHS program requirements.

+ Provide technical assistance and training to facilities in dangerous goods transportation and ensure compliance

+ Provide technical assistance and guidance for permit applications and compliance monitoring

+ Perform affiliate facility audits as needed or defined to ensure compliance with corporate governmental and Allied requirements.

+ Provide oversight and direction for the company medical surveillance program.

**Qualifications:**

+ Minimum of a bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or related field.

+ Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIH, CSP) are a plus.

+ Must have a minimum of 10 years work experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

+ Experience in interacting with OSHA, MSHA, EPA or other regulatory organizations.

+ In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices.

+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

+ Experience in EHS training and development in a multiple location environment

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

+ Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to drive cultural change toward safety and sustainability.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

+ Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

**Working Environment:**

+ Majority office environment, however, frequently spends time on manufacturing floor and outside of plant to participate in audits, incident investigation, occasional inspections, training and general awareness of conditions.

+ Required to follow Allied Mineral Products Safety & Health policies and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as appropriate when in manufacturing facilities.
