Risk Management Internship Job Description
Overview: We're seeking a motivated Risk Management Intern to join our team and assist the Risk Management department with administrative and risk management-related tasks. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in risk management, spanning across industries and responding to client requests. The position is full-time (Monday - Friday) On-Site at our HQ office in Columbus, Ohio.
Responsibilities:
- Assist employees with filling out unemployment claims and workers' compensation paperwork.
- Conduct periodic reviews of safety administrative procedures to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Investigate safety or loss-related incidents, preparing detailed reports on findings.
- Undertake special projects as directed by workers' compensation and safety managers.
- Aid in the development and implementation of safety training programs for all associates.
- Collaborate with the management team to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Review reported incidents and ensure timely entry, follow-up, and completion of all cases.
- Take on additional tasks or projects as assigned by management.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in processing workers' compensation claims and verifying safety compliance.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections as required.
- Collaborate with HR on safety training initiatives and programs.
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents and actions taken.
- Support the implementation of safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- At least a Junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, HR, or a related field.
- Must have a "people-first" attitude and thrive in a diverse environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities.
- Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
