GardaWorld Security Services is seeking a Regional Director of Human Resources to support our branch offices across the Western United States.

Job Summary: The Regional Director of Human Resources (RDHR) is crucial in driving organizational growth by implementing an effective people strategy. In this capacity, the RDHR oversees various critical functions, including change management, benefits administration, training programs, succession planning, safety protocols, risk management, and talent development within their assigned region. By exemplifying GardaWorld’s core values, the RDHR fosters a culture of employee engagement and servant leadership.

Acting as a trusted advisor, they bridge the gap between GardaWorld’s corporate headquarters and the region, ensuring consistent implementation of corporate policies, HR-specific strategies, and standard procedures. The RDHR directly manages Human Resources functions across multiple GardaWorld Security branch offices, including benefits administration, training initiatives, employee engagement surveys, and compliance with GardaWorld’s mandatory requirements. Additionally, they uphold company compliance with Federal and State legislation related to all HR matters and effectively communicate company policies and procedures changes to ensure proper adherence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

You will lead and develop a regional team of HR professionals, including HR Managers and HR Coordinators. You will be responsible for developing department goals, objectives, and metrics. Coordinate and enforce human resources policies and procedures throughout branches. Implement and administer various corporate human resources plans and procedures for the region’s personnel. Recommend and monitor personnel policies and procedures; research and suggest updates to the handbook on policies and procedures. Ensure 100% compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws. Serve as an HR liaison with Unions, as necessary, including dispute resolution and contract negotiation. Provide information annually to update compensation programs. Collaborate with corporate HR to rewrite job descriptions as necessary. Implement and be responsible for the region’s performance evaluation program. Maintain OSHA documentation; support the filing of EEO-1 reports; maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations. Screen and interview branch overhead candidates; extend job offers; conduct new-employee orientations in collaboration with corporate staff. Monitor career-pathing and succession planning programs. Maintain branch employment records and reports, following GardaWorld’s record retention policies. Utilize HRIS (WinTeam) software for onboarding, updating, and reporting. Communicate state and local employment law changes to corporate staff. Investigate and communicate resolutions on harassment, discrimination, and employee engagement claims. Support employment law cases such as EEOC. Ensure progressive discipline is followed and tracked for all corrective actions. Provide leadership to branch overhead employees, supporting branch General Managers. Analyze current processes and recommend modifications to enhance branch effectiveness. Implement, facilitate, and/or coordinate national training programs and those specific to the branch. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

You have a minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with two (2) years in a leadership capacity.

PHR/SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification (preferable) or comparable HR legal training, or a bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, is preferred but not required.

You are very knowledgeable and apply appropriate federal and California regulations, including prior experience with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and HIPAA. You have demonstrated success in managing all aspects of HR, including General HR, Compliance, recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee relations. Willing to travel up to 35% of the year. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems. You have a proven track record of leading and developing HR departments. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels. Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives. Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. Strong ethical standards and a high level of integrity.
