We are accepting applications for remote employees, but preference will be given to candidates who can work in our Orlando office on a hybrid basis. This role will travel approximately 10-20% of the time pending which clients/suppliers/distributors are located, as well as conferences. Sr Director of Procurement - Land and Sea Proteins

,

you will be responsible for procuring land and sea proteins for over 100 clients as well as supporting other brands within the Buyers Edge Platform. This role will be responsible for leading the protein category/supplier management activities (transactional and executional functions) as well as the implementation of the procurement strategy across multiple areas of protein spend(Beef, Pork, Poultry and Seafood). This role includes, but is not limited to reviewing proposals, supplier selection and management, commodity analysis, invoice review and approval, budget assembly and reconciliation, project management/coordination, evaluating price trends, KPI analysis, new product development and sourcing. This is a hands-on role with limited supervision requiring initiative and drive. You must possess broad, relevant business knowledge and be able to ruthlessly prioritize competing initiatives. You must be able to communicate effectively and appropriately across all levels of the enterprise as required.

Your Impact:

Develop/execute purchasing strategies for protein products including monitoring macrotrends in supplier base, implementing plans to react, and developing/executing purchasing strategies for products. Reviewing and understanding commodity related data is a must.

Drives positive results throughout the organization by supporting the project execution and procurement function

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders (including but not limited to: supplier and distributor partners, client teams, and internal clients). Heavy cross-functional interaction.

Identify opportunities; assist with problem solving/root cause analysis, offer solutions and process improvements for consideration

Assist the team with their buying strategy across assigned categories to determine and deliver best quality, service, and costs

Lead contract negotiations and manage protein category.

Assist with and/or lead the RFP process for new and existing products and services including distribution, evaluation, and selection of vendors

Provide various reporting and analytics as required (i.e. inventory, spend profile, volume reporting, pricing analysis, commodity data, etc.)

Coordinate assigned client meetings using both cross functional internal resources and external resources when appropriate, prepare the materials for the meeting(s), and present to all levels of the client's organization

Minimizes risk of supply disruption

Identifies supply and supplier issues or concerns, develops solutions and gains consensus to resolve issues

Collaborate and form strong relationships with Buyers Edge Platform companies to cross-sell various programs and capabilities to the assigned clients and identification of potential solutions to be offered

Support RPP and Buyers Edge Platform companies annual revenue goals

Learn and effectively use RPP's data platforms such as but not limited to; ArrowStream, Inside Track and assigned clients' distributor reporting platform to pull data, analyze, and provide insights back to assigned client

Continuously learn and stay informed on the following: Foodservice/Hospitality industry trends, commodity markets, logistics and distribution trends, consumer insights etc.

About You:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Foodservice/Hospitality, or business-related fields

Minimum of 7 years of related experience and/or training in the procurement of protein items

Equivalent combination of the above

Computer Skills:Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint),Ability to quickly learn and utilize various software platforms and databases

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, weight, and volume

Ability to apply concepts of basic math

Ability to communicate effectively through oral presentation and/or written correspondence

Ability to solve complex problems and interpret a variety of instructions
