Overview:

THE ROLE:


General Accountant to provide support to the General Accounting Supervisor in the accounting/reporting area. Directly responsible for plant fixed asset accounting and other general accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities. Performs SOX and operational compliance testing and reporting.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:


Maintain Fixed Asset subsidiary ledger, account reconciliation.
Adhere to corporate policy for capitalizing equipment purchases and other construction in progress activities
Prepare monthly fixed asset roll forward reconciliation
Complete government required reporting as necessary
Participate in Budget, forecast and monthly reporting activities.
Assist in process and system upgrades and enhancements
Interacts with other departments, such as Corporate Accounting, IT, Purchasing and Quality
Prepares special reports and assists in special projects as assigned by Management
Demonstrates initiative in all aspects of Plant Accounting
Ability to work with tight deadlines and meet department goals
Communicates effectively and clearly in verbal and written form
Other account reconciliations as assigned.
Performs quarterly SOX and operational compliance testing and remediation as necessary
Any other projects or tasks as assigned

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:


Skills:


Proficient with PC skills including Windows, Excel and Word
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the
business community
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to organize workload and multitask to meet deadlines
Carry out responsibilities with general supervision
Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity
Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
Strong team player and strong work ethic.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data.

Experience:
3+ years accounting experience
3+ years prior fixed asset accounting experience

Education:


Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Advanced Excel skills
Experience in Oracle

MBA Degree or CPA
