Summary/Objective The Business Development, Life Sciences is responsible for managing growth and development of new business while building customer relationships and providing strategic direction to help grow revenue and profit for the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Possesses strong knowledge of biopharma life science companies’ laboratory workflows and instrumentation (R&D, Operations, etc.) and the GxP environment. Develops a strong sales pipeline and continually prospects for new clients and new business based on strategic objectives. Meets and exceeds retention targets and sales quotas for new clients. Owns the account management and territory plans and works closely with the SVP of Renovo Life Science to implement strategic sales plans. Possesses strong knowledge of Renovo’s capabilities and service offerings. Possesses knowledge of the Life Science industry as it relates to our prospects, current clients, and competitors. Designs and delivers sales presentations at all levels of potential client organizations. Builds relationships at multiple levels at client account, and across all constituents. Manages the RFP process through completion by working closely with the Operations Team. Draft and negotiate all new SOW and MSA agreements. Supports the implementation of new clients and works closely with the Operations Team to transition client responsibilities accordingly. Maintains open and formal communication regarding market conditions, competitive situation, and client’s evolving business requirements. Represents Renovo Solutions at trade association meetings, conferences, and other networking opportunities. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Specific Scope Responsibilities: Responsible for Renovo sales growth target of approx. $2.5M to $3.5M per year depending on company AOP. Responsible for managing growth and development of new business to meet AOP. Maintains a Sales Pipeline consisting of enough qualified prospects to meet quarterly sales goals through our CRM tool. Provides realistic forecasts to Renovo management and communicates any significant changes or developments in a proactive and timely manner. Accountable for entering all sales opportunities into Renovo’s CRM tool and manages weekly/monthly forecast and activities reporting to senior leadership. Supports Operations Team with renewal opportunities where appropriate. Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and strategic objectives, forms relationships with decision makers and identifies, develops, and closes enterprise service business opportunities. Provides feedback to the Renovo onsite Operations Team for areas of improvement. Submits expense reports and other mandated documents in the required timeframe. Minimum Requirements / Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Sales or business management experience in the BioPharma Life Science Laboratories space preferably selling large asset management or service program deals. Executive level presence with an ability to interact and present effective written and verbal communications. Experienced at setting goals and monitoring performance to goals. Experienced in driving customer allegiance and growing existing customer base. Proven track record in managing/understanding a service or services related business. Willingness to travel (40% to 60% of time with overnight travel), specifically for candidates residing outside of the sales territory. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions: Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities. Must possess advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Ability to perform and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with C-suite customers, peers, and upper management. Self-motivated; bias for action. Effective negotiating and influencing skills. Ability to solve problems independently. Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory duties. Reporting Responsibilities: The Director of Business Development reports to the SVP, Life Sciences. This position is 100% remote. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear. The employee may be in an automobile or plane for extended hours. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. The employee is frequently required to work long hours and occasionally during the weekend. Travel: The employee will be required to travel 40-60% of the time.
