Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, staying updated on changes and developments in tax legislation.
  • Conduct detailed tax research and provide interpretations of tax laws to support tax positions and strategies.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax benefits for clients.
  • Assist in tax audits, including preparation of audit workpapers and responses to tax authorities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and disclosure.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior tax accountants, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Manage tax-related projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Prepare and analyze complex financial statements and reports related to tax.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their tax needs and provide tailored solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate tax.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., CCH, ProSystem fx, UltraTax) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
