Executive Director - Kentlands Community Foundation (Part-Time) Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland/Hybrid The Kentlands Community Foundation, a dynamic non-profit organization in Gaithersburg, MD, is seeking an inspired and dedicated Executive Director. As Executive Director, you will: Champion Volunteerism: Grow and nurture a vibrant volunteer base to support our diverse programs. Drive Revenue Growth: Lead fundraising initiatives and grant sourcing to ensure financial sustainability. Ensure Operational Success: Oversee daily operations, including financial management, administrative duties, event planning, and program support. Required Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in a leadership role, preferably in a non-profit organization (i.e. non-profit management, business administration, etc.) along with a Bachelors Degree, or minimum 5 years experience without a Bachelor's Degree. Experience in operational and financial management, fundraising, and event planning. Experience in project and personnel management. Key Qualifications: Skill in researching and finding grants and grant writing. Basic tech skills including familiarity with Google Suite, Zoom, website management, Mailchimp or similar application, and contract signing software (i.e. Docusign or similar application). Strong leadership skills with a knack for teamwork and community engagement. Understanding of the use of social media to promote organizational and program initiatives. Proficiency in writing news articles, press releases, and email newsletters for marketing. Excellent communication skills including writing, interpersonal skills, stakeholder management, and networking abilities. Ability to understand budget development and forecasting. Ability to efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks. Organized and detail-oriented with a solid background in project management. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours, including during seasonal spikes in organization and program activities.
