High Point, United States Marsh Furniture Company Full time

Works within the Purchasing department to conduct day to day operations for assigned Vendors/Suppliers. Interacts with suppliers to place orders, monitor open orders, manage/prevent backorders, schedule deliveries, and maintain pricing and any other activities related to bringing materials into the factory. Interacts with internal personnel as a liaison to suppliers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Requesting bids from suppliers and participate in bid evaluations/costing analysis
  • Ability to negotiate with internal and external parties
  • Understands and ensures proper product flow and inventory management
  • Determines and maintains min / max inventory stock levels of critical materials
  • Researches all sources for materials from current or potential suppliers
  • Enter purchase orders and process receiver paperwork for delivered orders
  • Follow up on open orders and in transit deliveries
  • Coordinate with shipping department and suppliers for pick up and/or delivery notification
  • Support existing and creation of new metrics for vendor evaluation/report carding
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP Functionality
  • Proficiency in data management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective professional communication with internal staff and external suppliers to maintain a high degree of business etiquette
  • Problem solving skills
  • Must be able to read and write in English
Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of office experience required with at least 1 year in a purchasing environment
  • Durable goods manufacturing experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
  • HOURS: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
