The Role:
We are looking for an exceptional Workday Specialist to join our team. This role will be instrumental in the continued expansion and deployment of Workday functionality. You will partner with Verkada key stakeholders (e.g., People, Finance, Payroll, Security) to implement streamlined People and Payroll processes.
Responsibilities:
Triage and configure Workday enhancements or fixes
for HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Timecards, Absence/Leaves, and reporting
Support implementation of Workday Payroll
for U.S. and international setup; maintain payroll security configuration and assignments
Build and maintain
organizational hierarchies, custom objects,
and
custom security roles
Partner with People Operations and Payroll teams to
solidify and document business requirements
related to programs to be executed through Workday and other technologies
Co-create, with process owners, the most
efficient business processes
Be a conduit between the People and Payroll teams to
answer questions or escalate issues
as needed and prioritize
technology fixes and enhancements
Assist with
broadening internal knowledge
of Workday configuration through hands-on training to cross-functional teams
Build reports
to support Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, and other areas of the Workday product
Drive adoption and usage
of Workday technology changes and new functionality launches across the People Team
Requirements:
5+ years of experience configuring HCM and Payroll modules in Workday including HCM Core, Payroll, Compensation, Time Tracking, Talent Management, Security, and Business Process Administration
Experience in supporting Workday system upgrades, implementations, go-lives and post-go-live technical support, including writing and completing test scenarios for implementations and enhancements
Strong expertise in Workday report writing and calculated fields
Ability to troubleshoot into Workday details to resolve issues quickly
Strong understanding of People and Payroll best practices, processes and compliance. Experience analyzing requirements and adjusting or changing to create the most optimal solution
Experience in designing, building, and testing processes in various People and Finance applications
Ability to understand the business requirements, and user needs and translate them into operational requirements
Strong technology aptitude and interest in research, data, metrics, and analysis
Demonstrated ability to work independently, remaining agile and flexible in a challenging environment and managing multiple competing priorities
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
Pay Disclosure
At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range. This estimate is also just one component of Verkada’s total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
