This Position is for a Director Institutional Effectiveness with a public university located in Gulfport, MS.

Job Description: The ideal candidate is a productive researcher who has a passion for working with complex datasets and transforming data into meaningful information that can be used to drive decision-making at the college. The Director of Institutional Effectiveness is responsible for working collaboratively with all of the college, including administrative units, faculty and staff, for the collection, analysis, interpretation and application of institutional data in support of the College's reporting requirements and internal data needs. The position requires a moderate amount of independent work and reports into the Vice President of Technology & Research at the Harrison County Campus.

Job Duties:

Survey Research & Assessment:

Serves as the Qualtrics Brand Administrator at the institution and is responsible for: (1) designing new survey instruments, (2) distributing student, employee, and employer surveys, (3) designing automated survey reports with Qualtrics, (4) extracting raw data and creating visualizations in Tableau Server, and (5) coding and presenting qualitative feedback.

Coordinates the administration and analysis of the Ruffalo Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory, Ruffalo Noel Levitz Priority Survey for Online Learners, Survey of Entering Student Engagement, and Community College Survey of Student Engagement.

Coordinates the administration of the ETS Proficiency Profile.

Student Learning Outcome Reporting:

Communicates with school team leaders to direct the annual student learning outcome data collection and reporting process.

Facilitates interactive student learning outcome workshops with all instructors annually.

Reviews annual student learning outcome reports for quality standards and follows up with report writers.

Responsible for reshaping the data file, conducting the analysis and presenting the findings via a Tableau visualization.

General Education Assessment:

Prepares an annual report detailing the performance of general education metrics. The analysis considers student learning outcomes data, student feedback, employee feedback and employer feedback.

Stays current with SACSCOC standard 8.2b and maintains digital records for compliance.

Departmental [Micro] & College [Macro] Planning & Evaluation:

Directs the planning and evaluation activities at the institution and ensures that all tasks are completed with accuracy and by the established deadline.

Coordinates and provides ongoing training and support at annual planning workshops.

Stays current with SACSCOC standards 7.1, 7.3, 8.1, 8.2b, 8.2c. and maintains digital records for compliance.

QEP Assessment:

Chairs the QEP Assessment Subcommittee on the QEP Implementation Committee and is responsible for all assessment activities.

Collects QEP student learning outcome data and analyzes that data in Tableau on a semesterly basis.

Presents findings to the QEP Implementation Committee.

Stays current with SACSCOC standard 7.2. and maintains digital records for compliance.

External Data Sources:

Responsible for extracting and maintaining external data sources including but not limited to: The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, United States Census Bureau, Federal Student Aid, Mississippi Department of Education.

Governance Council Meetings:

Serves as a resource member on the Instructional Affairs Council, Student Services Council, General Education Committee, Technology Council and Learning Resource Center Council.

Provides governance councils and other stakeholders of the institution accurate data that can be used in the decision-making process.

Internal & External Research:

Assists with the creation of Tableau visualizations. Produces dashb ards and visual data analytics as time permits.

Designs and coordinates various ad hoc research projects based on institutional need, facilitates the administration of national assessments, and creates evaluation plans.

Works with external researchers to facilitate a study upon approval of their research application.

Ensures that all reports and generated output are delivered with accuracy and by the established deadline. The individual should pay excellent attention to detail, use analytical skills to solve complex problems and correct data errors when they arise at the source.

Responsible for analyzing and reporting data to meet state and federal requirements. The surveys and reports must be completed with accuracy and by the internal deadline.

Assists the IPEDS keyholder in completing IPEDS surveys.

General:

Works cooperatively and effectively with other college staff members, faculty and administration. Practices excellent customer service in their daily interaction with stakeholders.

Ability to work within strict deadlines.

Adheres to all policies, procedures, and laws governing the employees of the institution.

Provides ongoing training, support and educational opportunities to our employees on IE related topics and promotes a culture of assessment at the institution. Prepares and presents employee development educational sessions based on employee needs and the individual's area of expertise.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President of Reporting & Analytics. Assumes responsibility for special assignments initiated by the administration or our stakeholders.

Mandatory Qualifications:

(M1) Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education is required in Statistics, Computer Science, Educational Research, Mathematics, or a closely related field requiring quantitative analysis OR significant progress made towards earning a Ph.D. in the quantitative programs noted above. (M2) Relevant course or experience working in evaluation, outcome-based assessment research, or applied survey research. (M3) Experience in statistical analysis using statistical software packages such as SPSS or R and mastery of online survey software.
