Actalent is partnering with a major client in the aviation industry to support projects involving liaison work for aircraft. We are looking to hire a team of Liaison Engineers who will work on-site at our client location in Abbotsford, BC, Canada. While the work location for these projects in Canada, Actalent can hire and support American talent for this engagement, and will be providing relocation/commute support as well as the process of acquiring eligibility to work in Canada. The incumbents can either live state-side and commute daily, or acquire accommodations in Abbotsford, BC, Canada.

This is an exciting opportunity involving long term employment with Actalent while supporting a major player in the aviation industry.

Role and Responsibilities:

The Liaison Engineer provides customer, OEM and production interface for repair and modification issues and manage engineering liaison activities. Their daily responsibilities may include:

+ Plan and execute the acquisition of approved data for non-routine repair and modification issues on customer aircrafts.

+ Liaise with customers regarding non-routine repair and modification issues to provide and establish customer specific procedures with customers engineering

+ departments.

+ Liaise with client's Aerospace Maintenance Department on non-routine repair and modification issues, establish a repair design, practical design and undertake by

+ examining impact of surrounding structures.

+ Create initial repair plan or adjust modification plan designs using CAD, digital pictures, or freehand drawings.

+ Liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), concerning non-routine repairs and repair/overhaul enquiries, ensure compliance with applicable aviation

+ regulations and establish recommendations to be approved.

+ Remain current with applicable aviation regulations.

+ Design repairs or modifications from inception through to design changes

+ Maintain compliance with Customer Communication Policies.

+ Provide interpretation of existing approved repair/maintenance/overhaul data and applicable regulations required.

+ Perform record-keeping functions effectively and in accordance with all of our client's Aerospace policies and procedures and customers policies and procedures.

+ Become familiar with and ensure that all workplace conduct is in accordance with our client's Aerospaces Human Resources safety and security policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:

+ Design Repair Experience - being involved with actual repair schemes of damaged components/aircraft structures

+ Experience in a liaison capacity, working in the aero/aviation industries - MUST BE MRO OR IN-SERVICE, MRB WILL NOT WORK

+ Exceptional communication skills (taking highly technical data and being able to relay in layman's terms)

+ Knowledge of manufacturing, maintenance, repair and modification of aircraft or systems and components

+ Experience working with shop floor environment

Desired:

+ Specific experience with C-130 Aircraft

+ Transport Canada AME License or Transport Canada or DND delegation

+ Skilled in AutoCAD, Catia or Solidworks
