SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the management of the people, clients, and deliverables of the manufacturing team. The Supervisor also serves as an escalation point for issues of the authority of the
team leads.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Ensure required DSV Staffing is present at the start of the shift and/or schedule any required overtime to ensure adequate staffing is available to meet the production goals and customer's needs.
•Audit Housekeeping Standards in all areas to ensure standards are being maintained, including the Hill Storage area.
•Ensure Balers in the Chucking area are maintained and functioning properly.
•Audit packaging of rolls in Wrap and Pack, Slitters 8/9 and Chucking to ensure packaging meets Quality Specifications and Order Requirements.
•Audit Associates to ensure Job Procedures are being followed, the required Protective Equipment is being worn and Safety Rules are being followed.
•Perform audit of rolls in Chucking, Wrap and Pack and Orchard to see if film damage is present.
•Submit work orders as necessary to ensure all equipment is repaired in a timely manner.
•Conduct frequent walks/audits (minimum 1 per hour) of Wrap and Pack, Chucking, Orchard, Triax, Slit Assistant and Shipping and Receiving areas to ensure employee Safety and production goals are being met.
•Conduct Shift Turnover walkthrough of all areas with oncoming Supervisor to communicate all pertinent information for a smooth shift turnover.
•Coordinate with the DTF Shift Resource to ensure DSV's Safety and Production objectives are aligned with DTF's objectives.
•Perform monthly cycle counts.
•Ensure all areas have log documentation in place, being utilized and collected at the end of shift.

OTHER DUTIES:
•Performs other duties as required

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education and/or Experience o High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing/warehousing experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership role in logistics/distribution/supply chain environment.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations:
  • Forklift Operation and Certification
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Computer Skills
  • Strong proficiency in basic MS Office applications is needed.
Language Skills
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Mathematical Skills
  • Basic level required with the ability to verify inventory, order accuracy and other quality driven initiatives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
  • Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree desirable
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Supervisors must possess the ability to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Supervisors must progressively complete training in all the operational areas the DSV manages such as Chucking Wrap and Pack, Slit Assistant, Triax, Orchard to have the ability to backfill a position in a time of need.
  • Supervisors must possess the ability to perform a significant amount of walking over a 12-hour shift.
  • Supervisors must possess the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or fell objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stop, kneel or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fume or airborne particles, toxic, or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
