Job Description
The Loan Review Manager is responsible, with other Loan Review Managers, for the commercial loan review function. The Loan Review Manager is a primary resource for the Director of Loan Review and Senior Manager, in identifying and reporting asset quality matters.The Loan Review Manager generally manages the loan reviews in a 'team leader role', and is responsible for supervising the staff. Loan Review is responsible for the ongoing evaluation and assessment of the quality of the Company's commercial and consumer loan portfolios and for measuring compliance with established policies, regulatory guidelines and sound lending practices; provides bank management and the Board of Directors with an evaluation of the risk and collectability of the commercial and consumer loan portfolio, as well as the stability of lending practices and activities.

How You'll Spend Your Time
- You will direct the periodic Loan Reviews of the commercial lending department's portfolio, with emphasis on the larger, more complex, or high risk portfolios; initiate changes in the sample and the review process or re-focus the group to concentrate on issues that are identified during the course of the review.Compile review results and prepare a written report for distribution to senior and executive management to provide an assessment of the credit quality and the administration of the portfolio under review.
- You will evaluate credit risk of the commercial loan portfolios, account for officer actions in the management of individual credit relationships, audit documentation supporting the transaction, and conduct an assessment of the adequacy of the bank's loan loss reserve on an individual loan basis and as a whole.
- You will assist or lead the continuous review of credit risk, special projects, and due diligence of potential bank acquisitions, as necessary.The goal is to determine the level of risk in the loan portfolio by communicating credit issues internally and assigning risk grades to specific loans, which affects the loan loss reserve calculation.Report findings continuously to the Director of Loan Review and/or Senior Manager, as appropriate.Findings to be incorporated into the overall Loan Review conclusions or reports.Prepare or review written reports and recommendations which are then presented for discussion with BOK senior/executive management.Interact with BOK senior/executive management, bank regulators, lenders and management of acquisition targets, as applicable.
- You will perform special reviews of individual credits when requested to assess the appropriate credit risk grade; assess the borrower's capacity to repay debt based on current operations and an assessment of future operations.
- You will determine scheduling and staff requirements of the review to ensure the appropriate coverage of the portfolio.Coordinates review schedule with the Loan Review Manager to determine the timing of upcoming reviews in order to accomplish the department's annual review schedule.Recruit, train, develop and retain Loan Review staff.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting, credit analysis, financial analyses, lending practices, banking regulations, and Uniform Commercial Code.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of financial analysis including ratio, trend and cash flow analysis
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of commercial lending policy, procedures and loandocumentation requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills to prepare and present persuasive oral and written reports.
- Excellent PC and spreadsheet software skills
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting and 10+ years experience in loan review and analysis, or 15+ years of equivalent work experience.
