Job Overview

At Waterstone Mortgage, we are committed to fostering a dynamic and innovative work environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in a supportive role that enhances our branch operations.

The Mortgage Sales Assistant plays a crucial role in elevating service standards within the branch by providing essential support to the Branch Manager and Loan Originators. This position offers the chance to collaborate closely with the sales team and Loan Originator, contributing significantly to the daily functions of the branch.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the main point of contact for clients, realtors, the Branch Manager, and Loan Originators.
  2. Conduct loan applications via phone, arrange appointments, provide rate quotes, and secure loans.
  3. Organize weekly pipeline meetings with Loan Originators to ensure precise file tracking.
  4. Monitor all required documents in Encompass and submit comprehensive loan applications.
  5. Maintain communication with clients throughout the loan process.
  6. Manage a pipeline of 15 or more loan files while assisting the Loan Originator and Branch Manager.
  7. Receive loan files from Underwriting and help gather any additional documentation as necessary.
  8. Stay informed about products, guidelines, and mortgage lending regulations.
  9. Support the daily operations of the branch as required.
  10. Assist in organizing offsite events, promotional activities, and employee gatherings.
  11. Welcome clients, handle phone inquiries, and aid in managing team schedules.

Qualifications:

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A federal registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is mandatory. While individuals in this role are not eligible for loan officer commissions, Waterstone Mortgage Talent Acquisition will assist in obtaining this registration upon hiring.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

1-3 years of experience in the mortgage or financial services sector is preferred.
