Responsibilities

We currently have a great opportunity for a Credit and Collections Specialist II. The Credit and Collections Specialist II is responsible for determining credit worthiness of new customers as well as monitoring on-going credit ratings for existing customers in order to take actions that mitigate financial risk to the organization. This position will also collect on outstanding invoices by corresponding with customers in a variety of modalities in order to create a positive relationship with our customers. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong customer service skills, strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, and ability to lead improvement projects and guide peers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. This role requires the ability to identify processes that require improvement as well as the ability to execute such improvements across the team and work cross functionally with other departments that could be effected by such changes.

2. Ability to train peers on all processes related to Credit and Collections

3. Provide excellent customer service regarding collection or payment issues by providing customers all information needed to make payments in a timely manner. Work with customers to reconcile accounts throughout the contract lifecycle to ensure a positive relationship and confidence in Sysmex billings.

4. Accountable for monitoring the aging of customer invoices and taking actions to collect on outstanding balances for assigned accounts. Escalate accounts if necessary to the Collection Manager.

5. Establish reliable payer contacts and build relationships with customers through email, phone calls, and meetings as needed to accommodate the customer's communication style.

6. Answer in-bound phone calls from customers and provide first call resolution to go above and beyond to assist a customer.

7. Using third party resources, run credit checks and evaluate credit worthiness for new customers, passing this information on to other departments through updates to internal databases.

8. Monitor on-going credit rating of customer base to assess risk to company and put plans in place to secure payment for high-risk customers.

9. Communicate & follow up effectively with cross-functional teams regarding customer accounts and resolution of customer invoice disputes.

10. Maintain accurate records and notes of collection activity in systems and provide reports on activities as needed.

Percentage of Travel: Up to 10%

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. At least 3 years of Customer Service, Collections, or Analyst experience is required.
  • Association affiliation with AR related organizations a plus.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook proficient. SAP experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to recognize patterns and analyze data.
  • Outgoing personality.
  • Strong customer service skills. Ability to influence others.
