JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for maintaining the product material master data in all accounting systems and files for our Food Production facilities. This position will assist the Plant Controller with establishing and auditing production standards, establishing the basis for customer pricing, interpreting and communicating timely production results. The role will provide strategic support in the implementation of new accounting systems and the integration of existing systems with a focus on continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.
  • Provide assistance to all Lunds & Byerlys team members modeling company customer service standards at all times
  • Oversee facility cost accounting and general ledger systems; including setup, maintenance and issue resolution
  • Perform routine plant floor audits to validate labor, material yields, and processes to ensure alignment with production standards, reporting any production variances
  • Maintain facility inventory tracking systems and assist with physical inventory cycle counts
  • Assist with period end close procedures
  • Gather data from available sources and formulate meaningful analyses, metrics, and reports in an efficient manner
  • Plan, lead and organize projects within the facilities to improve production efficiencies.
  • Research and respond to internal and external questions providing appropriate resolution in a timely, accurate and professional manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Education
    1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience
  2. Experience
    1. Three or more years' accounting experience
    2. Experience in food or drug manufacturing is a plus
    3. Experience in cost accounting is a plus

  4. Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    12. Proficiency with cost accounting and general ledger systems
