Position Overview
We are in search of a meticulous and driven Staff Accountant to enhance our finance department. This hybrid position will be based out of our Minneapolis office.

Key Responsibilities
The Staff Accountant will engage in various accounting activities, including:

  • Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures, encompassing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Examining accounts payable transactions, such as vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments for precision.
  • Verifying accounts receivable invoices and receipts postings for correctness.
  • Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring the integrity of financial data.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Conducting variance analysis and probing discrepancies.
  • Contributing to budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
  • Preparing and submitting sales tax returns and other regulatory documents.
  • Facilitating internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and clarifications.
  • Supporting special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as required.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA designation is advantageous.
  • One to three years of accounting experience, ideally within a corporate setting.
  • A robust understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks) is a plus.
  • Skills in SQL and PowerBI are desirable.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • A keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The capability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
