PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide high level customer service to district stakeholders. Facilitate the efficient operation of
the Student Services office.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification
High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient skills in keyboarding, word processing and file maintenance
Effective organization, communication and interpersonal skills
Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Systems
Basic math and bookkeeping skills

Preferred Experience/Skills:
Three years of successful secretarial or clerical experience preferably in a related field
Proficiency in Spanish

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  1. Perform the routine work activities in the Student Services office.
  2. Interact positively and professionally with parents, staff and others who need support
from Student Services
  1. Prepare and maintain correspondence, forms, reports, etc.
  2. Make appointments and maintain office calendar.
  3. Compile, prepare, and submit various reports for the office.
  4. Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
  5. Receive, sort, and distribute mail and other documents to staff members.
  6. Maintain office and student files.
  7. Maintain confidentiality of information.
  8. Perform routine bookkeeping tasks, including simple arithmetic operations.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of all information
  10. Participate in staff development training programs when appropriate
  11. Keep informed and comply with all state and district policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.

Tools/Equipment Used: Multi-line phone system; standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); Occasional moderate lifting/carrying (15-44 pounds).
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
