Position Overview

Amplify Energy is seeking a team-oriented individual for our Regulatory Compliance Specialist. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist is a vital role within the upstream oil and gas industry, responsible for ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations governing operations. This mid-career position requires a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, coupled with practical experience in the oil and gas sector. Hybrid opportunity reporting to the Facilities Engineering Director in our Houston office.

Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • This role is responsible for interpreting complex regulation language, working with applicable agencies, and coordinating with management to ensure overall compliance success
  • Create, develop, and maintain relationships with the applicable agencies associated with the upstream oil and gas sector
  • Participates in and/or makes technical reports and/or presentations to management
  • Develop and implement compliance programs to assess adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Assists with data gathering in preparation for regulatory inspections and reporting
  • Oversee regulatory reports and submittals
  • Develops and/or reviews processes and policy manuals related to compliance
  • Monitors and reviews company activities to assess level of compliance with existing and proposed federal, state, or industry legislation and regulations
  • Identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate exposure
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in regulatory compliance within the industry sector
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office and overall PC skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in hybrid setting
  • Ability to multitask, manage shifting priorities, and meet required deadlines
  • Willingness to learn and understand new regulations
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality
