Azure AI Architect

Role Overview:
As an Azure AI Architect, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing cutting-edge AI solutions on the Azure platform. Your role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, design and develop scalable AI solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing applications. This position demands a high level of technical expertise in several key Azure AI services. Your role on a high level will include responsibilities such as:
  • Serve as an inhouse expert for all things AI, especially with Generative AI and prompt engineering
  • Provide expertise in how and why to implement AI solutions we have planned, with the "why" being of equal or greater importance for longterm viability
  • Offer and implement techniques to test AI solutions, and to evaluate responses for accuracy, groundedness, and tone. Likely using Prompt Flow and/or custom automation.
  • Have vast experience with Azure AI Search, prompt stuffing, and RAG to make most effective use of existing Azure models.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop AI solutions leveraging Azure AI services, including Azure AI Services such as Azure OpenAI, AI Search, and Document Intelligence.
  • Work with development teams to engineer larger-scale UI-based chatbot or agent applications, using Azure OpenAI SDKs with Semantic Kernel.
  • Utilize prompt flow for prototyping, iterating, and evaluating AI solutions.
  • Engineer pipelines for data or file ingestion, used for contextual search and/or model training.
  • Optimize AI resources for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency on the Azure platform.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployment pipelines and ensure smooth integration of AI solutions into production environments.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in AI, and evaluate them for use to enhance our solutions.
  • Instruct and mentor team members on best practices and advanced techniques, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in designing and implementing AI solutions on the Azure platform.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C# and Python.
  • Strong understanding of Azure AI services, including Azure OpenAI, AI Search, and Document Intelligence.
  • Demonstrated expertise in prompt engineering to effectively design and optimize prompts.
  • Exposure or experience in fine-tuning and hosting custom models.
  • Experience with Retrieval Automated Generation (RAG) techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with provisioning and management of Azure cloud resources.
  • Experience with machine learning is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to development teams as well as non-technical stakeholders.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
