JOB SUMMARY

The Manager of Supplier Contracts main responsibilities will be to oversee the queue of all supplier contract requests that come in from internal stakeholders throughout the company through the leadership of a small team. This management role will also include the overseeing of individual negotiations with our suppliers, assessing risks of each contract and then providing legal and business advice to our internal customers, and assuring final contracts follow Schellman guidelines, policies, and risk tolerances both for those legal and business terms. This role reports to the Associate General Counsel.

Essential Functions:

  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of custom and standard contracts and other legal documents in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and various internal SMEs as required (e.g., Privacy, Finance, or IT Security). Examples include statements of work (SOWs), confidentiality agreements, professional services agreements, software license agreements, ordering documents, and amendments to those various documents.
  • Provide strategic business and legal recommendations based on industry best practices to internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of key supplier agreements and provides advice and counsel to various teams within the organization regarding contractual rights and obligations.
  • Perform analysis on supplier contracts and report on risks, opportunities, and tradeoffs.
  • Establish, maintain, and revise template agreements as required.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements to ensuring the highest possible value.
  • Evaluate supplier relationships and terminate them, in conjunction with stakeholders, if necessary.
  • Source qualified suppliers who can meet purchase needs in terms of product quality, quantity, and delivery date.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Extensive experience in procurement and negotiating contracts.
  • Must have strong business savvy related to vendor contract terms
  • Requires excellent negotiation skills with the ability to effectively resolve complex issues and conflicts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Outstanding professionalism with written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrable record of effective collaboration with colleagues and across business groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workflow.
Education, Work Experience and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, supply chain management or other relevant subject area directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • 5+ years of relevant Supplier Contracts experience, preferably from a Professional Services firm
  • J.D. is preferred, but not required
