This position will partner with the Operations Transportation team from a financial analysis capacity. The person in this role is expected to work hand-in-hand with transportation leaders to analyze and investigate complex information reported in the internal financial statements and other management reporting. Provide and lead financial decision support with business partners and research and recommend options and solutions for improved business results to senior management. Manage 3 direct reports supporting Outbound Freight. Lead and oversee financial reporting among the financial analysis team and support new business initiatives.

Core Job Responsibilities

Develop and mentor staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.

Be a strategic thought partner with FP&A and Operations leadership.

Communicate financial results for operating expense drivers and analysis.

Interpret financial results and metrics to business partners and the broader finance organization.

Conduct and lead quarterly/monthly financial business reviews with Operations leadership and other senior management.

Develop complex modeling solutions, analysis and reporting to support strategic initiatives.

Work cross-functionally to interpret business drivers influencing results.

Effectively highlight the true business drivers and their sustainability (isolating from one-time events).

Perform ROI analysis, scenario modeling, and providing decision support for future business planning decisions and investments.

Collaborate with Information Systems and Transportation departments to ensure data integrity.

Drive continuous improvement by creating new analysis, innovating on current metrics and reporting.

Identify areas for automation to create capacity for analysis and project work.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree.

At least 5 years of financial planning, reporting and/or analysis experience. At least 2 years of experience providing financial advice and counsel to P&L/business owners. Experience contributing to strategic decision making and goal setting initiatives. Experience leading profit improvement initiatives. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PowerPivot, PowerQuery, pivot tables, multiple if statements, financial modeling

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree

in Finance, Accounting or related field. Finance or Supply Chain concentrations preferred. Experience directly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work. Experience using SQL (joining tables, nested queries). Experience using Alteryx (building workflows from multiple data sources). Familiarity in SAP financial enterprise reporting system. Experience using or building Anaplan models and dashboards. Experience using Tableau (building dashboards, calculated fields, parameters and sets)
