ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

-Oversee the development, on-going operation, and analysis of the school division budget,

-Provide for the preparation and implementation of the Division budget, coordinate the division budget with individual schools and department budgets, including various special budgets to include Federal grant programs,

-Align school division resources to meet the school division's stated goals and objectives

-Provide for the supervision of various procurement activities consistent with law and policy within the division,

-Provide for the effective management of the division's accounting department and personnel,

-Coordinate the pupil accounting processes for the division,

-Provide for the organization, management and funding for various capital improvement projects in the division,

-Provide in-service and training activities for the division related to budgeting and financial best practices,

-Provide training and support to school bookkeepers,

-Process required state, federal and other reports related to finance, student data, school division operations,

-Provide administrative support of student programs by attending evening presentations, banquets, receptions, and extracurricular events,

-Represent Shenandoah County Public Schools at local, state and regional business and finance meetings,

-Participate in the school division's strategic planning process

-Perform various other administrative duties as assigned by the superintendent.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all staff in the accounting department.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree or licensed as Certified Public Accountant or equivalent; or at least four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

260 day contract, Administrative salary scale-Grade 1
