Job Summary
The City of Woodstock is accepting applications for a seasonal School Crossing Guard with the Woodstock Police Department immediately as a relief Crossing Guard position for the 2024-2025 school year. The Crossing Guard staff is responsible for seven (7) dedicated school crossings within the City of Woodstock, providing for the safe transit of our community's children to and from school. Crossing Guards work Monday - Friday at a designated crossing location during the school year. Most positions are scheduled in two shifts: 1.5 hours in the early morning and 2 hours mid-afternoon.
Minimum Qualifications
- Consistent work record demonstrating dependability and punctuality.
- Ability to deal with the general public, especially children, in a pleasant, courteous manner.
- Ability to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
- Tolerance of all weather conditions and ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to stand and walk for the entire 1.5 - 2.0 hour shift.
- Visual and auditory acuity, whether natural or corrected.
