Summary The France-Merrick Performing Arts Center is seeking a motivated, ambitious, organized, outgoing, and dedicated performing arts professional to join the team at the Center as a part-time Engagement & Event Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Engagement & Event Managers will work very closely with the Vice President and Director of Operations to book, manage, setup, advance, and settle all concerts, comedy shows, family shows, and special events at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Duties include: Receive and respond to initial booking inquiries for the theatre; Coordinate the booking calendar and clearly communicate all booking, changes, cancellations, etc with Hippodrome staff; Distribute booking advisories for non-Broadway bookings; Manage and keep up-to-date the online Engagement & Event Tracker tool; Coordinate on-sale dates, pre-sales, and announcements with booking agents and internal departments; Manage all informational and operational issues for upcoming shows, including contact terms, technical rider requirements, expense estimates, and insurance certificates; Assist the Vice President with the creation of budgets for all shows and events; Assist in the oversight, direction, and scheduling of the Facilities & Maintenance Team and all FOH Departments; Be present at the theatre from the beginning of load-in to the end the show/event; Perform financial settlements with tour/company manager & clients; Be present for night/weekend events and shows as needed; Review and distribute show-related invoices; Assist the sponsorship department with sponsor events and VIP meet-and-greets; Ensure proper placement of sponsor signage and materials at the venue; Liaise with national sponsorship team; Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President and Director of Operations. Education and/or Experience A 4-year undergraduate degree in arts or business Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Mathematical Skills This position requires a great deal of budgeting and critical thinking regarding ticket prices and financial settlements. A solid understanding of basic accounting and spreadsheets is required. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
