Job Summary

This position is responsible for all production planning and supply chain activities for the Hampton site as well as providing an interface between customers and suppliers. This includes management of the production planners and supply chain analysts, capacity analysis and supply planning, vendor coordination, and inventory monitoring to ensure the expedient flow of parts through the manufacturing processes to satisfy the customers' delivery requirements. This position requires strong quantitative analysis skills to balance customer demand with manufacturing supply and the qualitative skills to clearly communicate and update schedules to internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers and customers.

Job Responsibilities
  • Follow Safety Regulations along with all department specific safety requirements.
  • Communicates with customers concerning requirements, talks with them regarding other customer service-related concerns, and answers any other questions. Approximately 35% of available time is spent maintaining customer contacts.
  • Acts as liaison between customers, suppliers, and manufacturing and support teams. Communicates customers' requirements and concerns. Acts as the customer intermediary to ensure that specifications are met, and delivery is timely. Engages in these activities about 25% of the time.
  • Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Monitors throughput and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Prepares production reports
  • Provides schedule/forecast information to purchasing to ensure required materials, tools and equipment are in place.
  • Updates information on computer for perpetual inventory system.
  • Has custodial responsibility for the physical inventory.
  • Promotes ABS standardized work.
  • Provides both short and long term capacity analysis.
  • Responsible for both near and long-term forecasting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other industry related discipline.
  • 5 years minimum leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Highly knowledgeable with production planning concepts such as JIT Delivery, MRP, MRP II, ATP, and CTP.
  • Experience with ERP systems and MS Office applications.
  • Experience with using SQL data queries and creating useful business intelligence software tools in MS Power BI or Tableau.
