Job Description Summary:

The Director of Adult Community Services has broad responsibilities in the planning, implementing, operations, and evaluating of community-based services for the serious and persistent mentally ill consistent with Ozark Center policies. The Director takes the initiative in applying Center policies and procedures and their knowledge and judgment to such services. The Director provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals served often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. The Director demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. The Director will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. The Director of Adult Community Services will report directly to the Chief Clinical Officer.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate the clinical knowledge and judgment to utilize the process to assess, plan, implement, provide, supervise, and evaluate each patient's mental health care.
  • Review and/or revise programs to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and accreditation and certification standards and to better meet the needs of the clients Ozark Center serves.
  • Work cooperatively with other Program Directors and clinicians in developing effective delivery systems for clinical programs and services.
  • Participate in community stakeholder meetings and serve on state committees to provide leadership and voice in improvements in mental health care and treatment.
  • Provide agency leadership in evidence-based practices to improve services and treatment to mental health clients.
  • Identify, define, and acquire funding resources available to the Organization.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with the Organization's staff regarding programs and plans.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  • Normal office environment.
  • Typical physical demands include prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.
  • Requires physical, sensory and cognitive abilities.
  • Requires ability to work under stressful conditions, work irregular hours and occasionally deal with irate individuals.
