We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Director to lead our Client's procurement team and drive strategic sourcing initiatives based in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. As a Procurement Director, you will play a key role in optimizing the supply chain, ensuring cost efficiency, and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage the procurement team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team's success and growth.
  • Oversee the entire procurement process, from supplier selection and negotiation to contract management and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, identify sourcing opportunities, and develop procurement plans that support operational requirements.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and other relevant criteria. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to ensure favorable terms and cost savings for the company.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to proactively identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and innovation.
  • Lead supplier performance assessments and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
  • Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficient procurement operations.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, cost savings, and performance improvements.
  • Manage procurement budgets, track expenditures, and forecast future procurement needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • 10 years of proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a track record of successfully managing supplier relationships and contracts.
  • Solid understanding of procurement best practices, market trends, and sourcing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and process improvements.
  • Any relevant certifications such as CSCP, CPM, etc is a plus.
