Description

The purpose of this position/class is to work with Federal and State representatives to maximize reimbursable funds into the County.
Job Responsibilities

  • Researches, reconciles and creates project documentation for expenditure tracking
  • Updates and manages Federal and State portals.
  • Audits contracts, orders and vouchers for regulatory compliance.
  • Prepares and post journal entries on a daily, monthly, quarterly or annual basis relating to assigned funds.
  • Point of Contact for external agencies.
  • Direct Administrative Cost (DAC) management.
  • Participates in the development of new disaster systems.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Monitors and reconciles assigned funds, preparing all necessary reports that are required by state and/or federal law.
  • Analyze assigned funds for negative balance, reclassification and errors in posting.
  • Monitors assigned funds for budgetary compliance.
  • Interacts with and assist other county departments as needed.
  • Prepares investment schedules, reports and general ledger activities.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual A/R billings, schedules and grant financial reports.
  • Reconciles A/R subsystem to annual ledger for monthly report.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
  • Requires two years of experience in government accounting, grants administration, general finance operations or closely related experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses
  • Preference in governmental accounting and project documentation.
