Requirements
Standard Requirements
1. Supports the Mission, Values and Vision of Brandywine Living and the facility.
2. Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy,
dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
3. Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for:
a. Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established
fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe
working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
b. Confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee and operations data.
c. Quality Assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
d. Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual
harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
4. Supports and participates in common teamwork:
a. Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with
minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.
b. Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
c. Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported
complaints, problems and concerns.
d. Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
e. Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress
codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
Essential Duties
? Performs housekeeping tasks as may be requested by resident promptly and politely.
? Cleans, polishes, washing and sanitizing bathrooms, dusting, and vacuum resident rooms as
assigned.
? Cleans, dusts and vacuums public areas.
? Ensures that work/cleaning schedules are followed closely.
? Reports all accidents/incidents to your supervisor on the shift in which they occur.
? Coordinates daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine
cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.

Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be
altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances. Other duties as directed by

The incumbent must maintain skills necessary to safely and efficiently operate the following

1. Vacuum Cleaner
2. Washer and Dryer
Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
Working Conditions: Moves intermittently during working hours and subject to frequent
interruptions. May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members,
personnel and visitors. Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress of the position.
Physical and Sensory Requirements: Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics
skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; auditory and visual skills; ability
to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
