JOB OBJECTIVE
Centex Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team at our Killeen, TX office. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks including but not limited to, maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and reconciling accounts.
Essential Functions
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Prepare and analyze financial statements.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including entering invoices, payments, and receipts.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support.
Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
Analyze and update financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Generate reports and financial statements as needed.
Assist with preparation of tax filings with external auditors.
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to company accounting policies.
Perform other accounting tasks as assigned.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (KSA)
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. Combination of Education and Experience will be considered.
2+ years of accounting experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Paylocity) a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, operate a computer, and perform other light office tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily an office environment with interaction with colleagues and occasional interaction with external stakeholders.
WORK STATUS, SCHEDULE & TRAVEL
Monday – Friday, 8am -5p, (1 hour lunch)
Some weekends, holidays and flexible scheduling may be required.
Travel as required to meet company and contract needs.
