Principal Verification Engineer

Insight Global is hiring a Principal Verification Engineer for a leading Semiconductor company's microcontrollers and microprocessors digital IP team. The digital IP team develops best in class digital IPs for Automotive business and Advanced microcontrollers which offer sensor and processing technology that drives all aspects of the secure connected cars of today and the autonomous cars of tomorrow. This principal verification engineer will be challenged to have a "zero-defect" mindset to be a key enabler and provide guidance on technical issues faced by the verification team. You will mentor a small team of engineers and partner with local and global SoC and IP developers to drive best practices with a target of ongoing productivity improvement.

Day-To-Day:

- Verification planning.

- Verification test bench development and implementation.

- Development of verification test bench components such as drivers, monitors, and response checkers as well as use of most advanced UVM VIPs.

- Development of direct and constrained-random stimulus.

- Understand and analyze RTL code, functional, and assertion coverage results.

- Understand and develop functional coverage.

- Understand and develop system Verilog assertions.

- Understand and implement formal verification methods.

- Strong skills in debugging, failure re-creation, and root cause analysis

- Experience with FPGA, Emulation, Prototyping using HAPS, Palladium, and Zebu.

- Familiarity with major stimulation and debug tool vendors.
- Years of experienced based off education:

- BSEE: 8+ years of experience in the Semiconductor industry.

- MSEE: 5+ years of experience in the Semiconductor industry.

- PhD: 3+ years of experience in the Semiconductor industry.

- Knowledge of protocols such as Ethernet/802.3, PCle, MIPI, PHY IPs, etc.

- Knowledge of AMBA, CHI, ACE, AXI bus protocols.

- Expertise in VHDL/Verilog/System Verilog.

- Expertise in OVM/UVM, Class-based verification methodologies.

- Knowledge of Formal verification methodologies like AVIP.

- Experience with test pattern debugging and testing for verification and automatic testers.

- Experience with Low Power intent verification using CPF, UPF.

- Expertise in Python, Perl, and UNIX/LINUX.

- Understanding of Power Management.

- Knowledge of Functional and Code Coverage methodologies.

- Efficient debugging and logic skills.

- Soft Skills:

- Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills.

- Mindset: Ownership and collaboration.
