Category Manager

In the role of Category Manager, your role will involve developing a global strategy to identify best in class suppliers that provide components, products, and solutions on a global scale. You'll be tasked with crafting, refining, and executing a comprehensive sourcing strategy, providing guidance to achieve cost reductions and optimize value for the business. You will oversee the development of global supplier relationships, ensuring compliance and performance alignment to support Company's growth and profitability. In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in awarding and distributing business, as well as negotiating, implementing, and managing Company Supply Agreements. Your focus will extend to strengthening strategic partnerships with suppliers, facilitating the transformation of value from the supplier market to Company's business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
•Analyze Company's 5 year product roadmap to identify needs in technology and commercial development to transform specific Category and Supplier Strategies.
•Identify, assess, and choose new suppliers to enhance and expand the supplier base, aligning it with supply chain strategies and the technology roadmap.
•Manage and develop the supplier relations
•Drive supplier performance and development
•Ensure compliance and adherence to Company supplier requirements
•Find cost potentials through VA/VE analysis and benchmarking
•Negotiate supply agreements including payment terms, stocking programs & year over year cost savings
•Perform RFQ&RFP process and create TCO analysis for running business and new business opportunities (new products)
Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business or economics and/or; equivalent work experience
•Ability to define standardized frameworks, processes, and tools to ensure efficiency and agility throughout a global organization.
•Excellent knowledge of and background in end to end supply chain
•Deep knowledge in strategic sourcing practices such as category management, supplier management and agreement management.
•Demonstrated success in commercial and supplier readiness in product development and industrialization of new products.
•Excellent business mind and extensive experience in an international environment.
•Strong analytic, interpersonal and communication skills.
•Excellent knowledge of and background in end to end supply chain
•Good knowledge in business analysis (such as cost drivers and cost break down analysis)
•Good engineering and/or technical understanding, including quality, logistics and production engineering
•5+ years of experience in sourcing components, assemblies, and good understanding of a manufacturing environment. Preferred experience in metal fabrication, machined steel, aluminum extrusions and injection mold plastics.
•Experience in leading high performing teams engaging in cross functional collaborations and matrix organizations globally.
•3+ years of experience in business negotiations and contract management (including agreement writing)
