A Brief Overview
Serves as a lead/advocate of the practice of program management in the Strategic Planning department in order to accomplish organizational and departmental strategic goals, objectives, and measures of success. Oversees logistics and operations of the strategic planning process.

Essential Functions
  • Assists in defining standard documentation templates and organizes strategic planning activities to achieve optimum service delivery/systems/care/processes, setting high performance objectives. Ensure organization of strategic planning materials.
  • Serves as lead operational accountability for organization of strategic planning tactics and measures of success. Ensures that tactics are up to date. Assists Executive Vice President (EVP) in coordination of strategy council and strategy committee of the board of director meetings.
  • Program Management •Will participate in the development and implementation of business plans. •Will assist with annual budget by tracking expenses and providing input for future budget needs. •Works directly with the Executive Vice President, Chief Information & Innovation Officer, to identify and prioritize organizational projects that align with the strategic plan. •Organize and collate data on the strategic plan into meaningful information to be presented to the strategy council. •May oversee and advise project teams and external consultants. •Ensure enterprise-wide communication management as it pertains to the overall strategic plan. •Create and track strategies and objectives using project management tools to define phases of project, timelines, staffing requirements and procedures required to accomplish project and ensure that it progresses on schedule. •Aid in the development of strategic growth plans and track/report the status of strategic growth and strategic plan progress. •Identify strategy and objective risks and solutions, providing recommendations and address concerns in a pro-active manner when possible. •Escalate issues/concerns to appropriate level of management.
  • Personnel Management •Supervises and supports the Strategic Planning team. •Assists with employee performance management duties including hiring, developing, and terminating (as necessary) staff. •Develops orientation plans for new employees and monitors the effectiveness of orientation programs. •Develops training plans for current employees. •Makes salary recommendations. •Submits notifications for personnel actions (e.g., status changes, terminations). •Identifies opportunities for coaching and career development with employees within area of responsibility. •Participates in professional and continued learning activities and shares knowledge with team members. •Provides leadership by modeling accountability and by setting expectations of staff. Operational/Financial Management •Responsible for the implementation and execution of business plans or activities for the department. May assist in the development of business plans. •Makes decisions guided by the business plan and resource availability that impacts service levels and the team's ability to meet objectives. •Analyzes processes and procedures and makes recommendations and/or decisions on guidelines for daily processes/activities within department. May recommend policy changes related to the department. Implements new or revised policies, processes, and procedures within the work area. •Develops the annual budget, monitors and prepares budget variance reports for the department. •Applies business and management expertise to identify problems/opportunities, determine solutions, and measure results. Ensures compliance with quality assurance, safety practices, policies, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for education Required
Experience Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in business and or clinical processes Preferred and
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory role. Preferred and
  • Must have experience supervising small teams in a customer focused environment Preferred and
  • Successfully served in positions of progressive responsibility Required
Skills and Abilities
  • Current knowledge strategic planning.
  • Proven project management skills, including plan and portfolio development, plan monitoring, the ability to revise and adapt plans throughout the course of a project and to identify potential opportunities.
  • Strong organization, analysis and problem-solving skills are required with an emphasis on attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced evolving environment to meet deadlines
  • Effective planning, organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with department staff, leaders, executive team and vendors
  • Proven ability to utilize critical and analytical thinking skills for problem solving
