Sales Manager

Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. We hold quality accreditations for all the major airframe and engine manufacturers for both civil and military applications. Wyman-Gordon Pennsylvania, a division of Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC), is a manufacturing leader of Flash Welded and Cold Rolled near net shaped rings primarily used in commercial and military aircraft. We are currently seeking a highly motivated person to fill theSales Manager role for the Mountaintop and Tru Form facilities located in Northeast Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate is willing to learn and aim to provide exceptional customer service.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to lead our direct sales team to new heights. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in direct sales and a strong ability to build and develop high-performing teams. You will be responsible for setting a clear vision, conducting thorough market analysis, and developing strategies to win in our competitive landscape. You will determine where to compete, identify key competitors, and devise plans to outperform them. PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Sales Manager will drive revenue growth through strategic direct sales initiatives, leverage our core competencies. This role involves setting a clear vision for the sales team, building and developing a high-performance sales force, and conducting thorough market analysis to identify opportunities and competitive advantages. The Sales Manager will craft and execute sales strategies to win new business, expand market share, and achieve profitable growth while ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives. Key responsibilities include identifying target markets, understanding competitive dynamics, and positioning our products and services to outperform competitors and exceed customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports, solicits and negotiates commercial contracts for domestic and international companies.
  • Develops and monitors departmental metrics to ensure successful processes
  • Develop standard work, policies and procedures for sales team
  • Manages and owns finished goods inventory turns and drives inventory days to target levels.
  • Maintains and grows sales profit margins
  • Ensures terms and conditions align with site and division goals
  • Manage plant sales backlog and customer quoting, scheduling and pricing integrity.
  • Participates in development of business unit/plant policy for areas that directly impact or are impacted by sales, such as market, pricing, forecasting, account receivables and production.
  • Executes sales plan developed for fiscal year by focusing on sales to key customers, management of those relationships and coordination of internal activities in support of sales to the customer.
  • Participates in Teams of cross-functional personnel for the purpose of reorganizing/improving functions affected by sales.
  • Establish and build strong client relationships. Reinforce this relationship by sales/delivery programs and interface with other relevant company disciplines.
  • Orchestrates sales plan to maintain major account relationships and meet plant sales targets.
  • Maintain material and product pricing quarterly and on an annual basis for multiple customers through varying methods of pass thru.
  • Manages project for new Product introduction (NPI) process in conjunction with engineering
  • Develops, mentors and coaches inside sales team
  • Automates internal sales processes
  • Drives accountability, workflow ownership and working level decision making
  • Lead and manage the direct sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and articulate a clear sales vision, setting ambitious yet achievable goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Formulate strategies on how to win in the marketplace, including where to compete and who to beat.
  • Drive profitable growth by leveraging the company's core competencies.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to ensure targets are met.
  • Collaborate with marketing and other departments to align sales strategies with overall business goals.
  • Provide mentorship and training to develop the skills and capabilities of the sales team.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • S. Degree in Engineering or Business
  • Five (5) years in related sales support positions.
  • Adept at Microsoft Office to communicate with customers and internal management current sales and deliver impacts.
  • In depth understanding of MRP/ERP, Oracle preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of functions within sales, marketing and operations.
  • Proven experience in direct sales, with a successful track record in a sales leadership role.
  • Strong team-building skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent market analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to set and communicate a clear vision for the sales team.
  • Experience in developing and executing competitive sales strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making abilities.
