Key Accountabilities

Prepare and review various financial statements, journals, rate case schedules and budget forecasts. Plan, perform and lead new and/or complex audits and special projects. Coordinate, consolidate, report and prepare analysis of capital budget to aid management in decisions. Develop performance measures to assist management in business decisions.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

Master/Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 7-9 years related work experience. Certification desirable. Thorough knowledge of the functions of the accounting organizations such as Accounts Payable, General Accounting, Payroll, Budget, Tax, Plant and Construction Accounting. Knowledge of the related accounting systems and budgeting process. Must be able to utilize knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, company policies and other information as they apply to the utility industry to provide relevant and reliable reports and information for management inside and outside the accounting organization. Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, mainframe applications, and other office equipment. Key Metrics

Insert key metrics of the job Participate in special projects and committee assignments as requested. Applies appropriate accounting procedures and maintains effective internal controls. Effectively interface with support staff and other Vistra personnel to ensure consistent work practices and reporting deadlines are achieved. Review and approve monthly SOX controls Participate in complex analytical projects with collaboration across multiple departments. Completes accounting activities to maintain the books and records in accordance with GAAP. Provide Retail accounting expertise to other departments by representing the Retail Accounting team as a subject matter expert. Review the work of accounting staff and provide leadership to the team.
