Summary:

Material Handlers are essential to the daily operation of every manufacturing business, moving inventory and production supplies safely in the warehouse. Ensure the safe and timely delivery of materials, employing the highest industry safety standards. Coordinate lifting with coworkers to maximize efficiency, paying careful attention to detail, ensuring the proper completion of every order. Strong leadership skills, time management abilities and motivation. As a Material Handler II, you will be an integral part of company operations and strengthen our business' efficiency, timeliness, and commitment to service.

Job Details:

  • Inspect as well as correctly stage, identify and label all warehouse materials. Maintain records of material placement and storage as needed
  • Prepare, package, and ship orders using best industry practices, maintaining good records of shipping paperwork and inventory
  • Regularly prepare documents for Domestic and international parcel shipments
  • Prepare documents for Domestic freight shipments, including shipments of dangerous goods
  • Complete receipts in our ERP system for Items and services using multiple locations
  • Assist with loading delivery trucks as well as move materials using heavy machinery throughout the warehouse and office areas
  • Handle pallets and boxes using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other moving tools throughout the facilities.
  • Supervise loading docks and material storage areas
  • Communicate with coworkers, vendors and customer shipping representatives by phone calls, emails, texts messages, etc. to fulfill requests effectively and efficiently
  • Assist the Facilities group with the management and maintenance of material handling equipment.
  • Assist in training new employees
  • Lead inventory counts and investigate discrepancies
  • Assist other groups with other duties as needed
  • Always using proper PPE and following OSHA safety guidelines
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years' experience previous warehouse, production, or inventory management experience
  • Knowledge of 49CFR and shipping Lithium batteries preferred
  • High school diploma or GED preferred or other equivalent experience
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and keep a detailed schedule
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to work as part of a team
  • Able to work on feet for an extended period of time
  • Able to regularly lift heavy objects up to 70 lbs
  • 9 CFR DOT certified preferred
  • Forklift certified preferred
