Our Technical Operations team comprises aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help ensure our planes are well looked after and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the safety and compliance of the Ground Services Equipment (GSE) and Facilities (FX) groups within Technical Operations, aligning with company policies and industry regulations. Support division leadership in achieving safety goals and initiatives by providing local management with information and practices to reduce injuries, injury severity, aircraft damage, and total costs. Ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, and EPA regulations.

  • Assist in the execution and maintenance of safety and compliance initiatives for the GSE and FX groups.
  • Engage in various projects and programs, such as self-audits, occupational health campaigns, and new equipment and facility evaluations, to cultivate a robust safety culture.
  • Conduct detailed investigations of safety and compliance incidents, ensuring containment and the implementation of effective action plans.
  • Offer training and support to department safety advocates as needed.
  • Advocate for and apply Safety Management System (SMS) principles within the GSE and FX groups, incorporating industry-standard processes.
  • Enhance existing and new safety programs, policies, and procedures for compliance and safety considerations.
  • Monitor safety data trends, identify hazards, propose risk mitigations, and coordinate the implementation and validation of corrective actions with leadership.
  • Lead, implement, and communicate corrective action plans with GSE and FX leadership.
  • Facilitation and conducting incident and accident investigations involving injuries, damage, and safety, security, and regulatory incidents.

Qualifications

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant work experience in Aviation and Safety related field
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • 3+ years of Occupational Safety and /or Ground Service Equipment and Facilities experience
  • Proven superior interpersonal skills, writing skills, critical thinking, and leadership skills
  • The highest standard of ethics and integrity to compliance adherence
  • High collaboration, teaming, and employee engagement skills
  • Must be able to work operational hours when needed
  • Fluent in reading and writing English
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
  • Must be willing and able to travel 30% for work.

NOTE: This position is based at the CSC-Willis Tower, located in Chicago, IL, and is considered a hybrid work schedule, with three days in the office.
