Job Description

Objective : As a Junior Mortgage Underwriter, you will assist in reviewing loan applications and supporting documentation to assess borrowers' creditworthiness. Your role involves working under close supervision to learn the fundamentals of underwriting.

Responsibilities :

Assist in evaluating mortgage loan applications and financial documents to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Work under the guidance of senior underwriters to learn the underwriting process and criteria.

Conduct basic risk assessments by reviewing applicants' credit scores, employment history, and debt-to-income ratios.

Collaborate with loan processors and officers to obtain additional information and clarification.

Learn to use underwriting software and other tools for analysis and decision-making.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Basic understanding of the mortgage lending process and underwriting principles.

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
