Summary of position: Osmose is looking to add Electrical Engineers to our Canadian Division. Our Electrical Engineers are responsible for designing, maintaining, and overseeing electrical power distribution systems. This role will work specifically with our clients in western Canada. This is a remote position but must be accessible to reach Kimberly, British Columbia. Responsibilities: Design and maintenance: Create and maintain infrastructure for power distribution systems, including overhead and underground lines, substations, and transformers. Safety and compliance: Ensure all designs and installations comply with safety codes. Technical Analysis: Perform circuit analysis, fault current calculations, and recommend corrective actions to address deficiencies. Project Management: Coordinate with various stakeholders, including mine operators, government agencies, and other engineers to ensure projects are completed efficiently. Documentation and Inspection: Conduct regular inspections including as-built/post construction, document performance, and maintain accurate records of electrical systems. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. Engineering or technical degree preferred or other degree with related industry experience considered. Five or more years of experience in distribution engineering. Professional Engineering license required. Broad knowledge of electrical distribution systems and telecommunications. Broad knowledge of construction standards and distribution pole design. Software skills required include Power Line Systems and Computer Aided Design and Drafting. Excellent communication skills; both written and oral. Present a professional appearance and attitude.
