POSITION OVERVIEW
This position reports directly to the Electrical Project Manager and is intended to provide estimating and inside sales support as needed. The Electrical Estimator is responsible for developing VTI product line estimates based on customer supplied documentation. The accuracy of the estimates developed is critical to the ability of the company to competitively bid work and maintain profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Essential and other important responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
* Process quote requests in a timely manner.
* Assess all supplied requirements, specifications, and electrical drawings to develop a comprehensive understanding of customer needs.
* Work closely with engineering and other stakeholders to identify and flag any potential design specification shortcomings.
* Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractors to obtain current pricing and lead-times for required materials.
* Prepare a detailed estimate and proposal letter for thorough review and timely submittal that adheres to NEC and UL 508A standards.
* Establish and maintain communications with customers during and after the quoting process.
* Assist in developing change orders as needed.
* Support marketing resources and sales engineers as needed.

Job Requirements

COMPANY REQUIREMENTS
* Represent the company to customers and other companies in a professional manner.
* Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental, engineering, personnel and accounting policies, standards and procedures.
* This is a full-time position that may occasionally require overtime.
* Complete daily timesheets with description of activities.
* Maintain a valid Driver"s License and proof of insurance.

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES)
* Working knowledge of NEC and UL 508A.
* Working knowledge of electrical power distribution.
* Ability to interpret electrical single-line drawings.
* Proficiency in basic Microsoft applications: Word, Excel.
* Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
* Ability to make good judgments when working independently.
* Ability to update and organize all quoting documentation daily.
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Preferred candidates would have electrical power distribution experience, but other electrical backgrounds will be considered.
* Prefer at least ten year of experience in an electrician and/or engineering position.
* Prefer trade or technical school education, bachelor"s degree not required.
