Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Physical Substation Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing General Arrangements for 13kV-500kV Substations/Switchyards, Equipment Plans, Elevations and Sections, Control House Layouts, Grounding analysis/design, Switchgear design, Conduit and Cable design, and Creation of Bill of Materials utilizing AutoCAD/Microstation drafting software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Champion: Serve as a Quality champion for Mesa and the design team and be part of Mesa's Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Foster strong customer relationships through communications and support.
  • Professional Growth: Desire/interest to cross-train in additional disciplines for professional growth.
  • Estimating and Bid Preparation: Estimating and assisting in the preparation of bid packages.
  • Project Meetings: Attending scoping meetings as requested for projects.
  • Professional Certification: Able to obtain PE license in required states to sign and seal client plans and drawings within one year of employment.
  • Project Delivery: Must be able to complete assignments within budget and schedule with a high degree of accuracy to provide quality deliverables.
  • Overtime and Flexibility: Must have willingness to work overtime as required for customers' needs.
  • Mentorship: Mentor other designers/engineers in group to increase knowledge of physical substation design.
  • Work Review: May be designated to check/review other personnel work for accuracy/adherence to client/national standards.
  • Engineering Evaluation: Independently evaluate, select and apply engineering principles and practices relevant to the project requirements. Share updates with team and leads to continually improve communications and quality.
