Accounting Specialist

Job Summary:The Accounting Specialist will complete accounting and bookkeeping tasks, perform department audits and tax filing assignments, and assist with the successful processing of payroll bi-weekly. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Accounting department for the successful and accurate execution of department deliverables and maintaining positive vendor relations pertaining to AP/AR tasks and responsibilities.Duties and Responsibilities:
Enter company financial transactions into QuickBooks, verifying that all transactions are recorded accurately in the appropriate ledgers to successfully complete the posting process.Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements, ensuring the books are brought to the accurate trial balance stage before finalizing and processing.Process incoming AR payments and outgoing AP payments, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.Reconcile invoices, researching, tracking, identifying, and rectifying discrepancies in a timely manner.Monitor and update company expense reports, escalating discrepancies for further approval when needed.Process reimbursement forms, ensuring proper documentation and approval is obtained before payouts.Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual audits, and assist with the completion of tax forms.Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable lawsMaintain accurate digital and physical financial records.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.Prior experience in Accounting or Bookkeeping required.
Skills:Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and standard bookkeeping procedures.Strong knowledge of finance and tax regulations.Strong knowledge of Excel and accounting software (e.g. ADP Workforce, QuickBooks).Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.Excellent math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong ability to analyze and review standard accounting reports.Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with the utmost discretion.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you will be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. A reasonable estimate of the hourly range for this job is $25.00-$32.50. Individual salaries within those ranges takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to education; experience and training; licensure and certifications; knowledge and skill sets; and other business and organizational needs.
